This animation shows a fleet of six spacecraft close to a periodic orbit around the Earth-Sun L2 point. They start from a given linear configuration and are to assume a hexagonal configuration that minimizes the control effort. This is the sort of reconfiguration that missions like the DARWIN (ESA) and TPF (NASA) missions will need to make. | |
