Extending the group of symmetries of a Lagrangian to the full gauge group Dr. Marco Castrillon Lopez, University Complutense of Madrid, Spain Monday, April 27, 20092:30 PM to 4:00 PM 114 Steele (CDS Library) Given a Lagrangian density for a field theory on sections of a bundle where a group acts fiberwise, a new Lagrangian is defined such that it is invariant with respect to the group action. For that purpose, a new field (and a new bundle) must be introduced. This can be applied to the Chern-Simons Lagrangian and to the minimal coupling setting when the group is the gauge group. |
