To apply to the PhD program you should follow Caltech's general admission procedures and check off "Control and Dynamical Systems" on the application form.

Forms and Procedures
You can get the Caltech forms and read about the procedures at the Caltech Office of Graduate Studies and find out more about the institute at the Caltech home page.

On-Line Applications and Fees
Most applications are done on-line and there is an application fee, but it is sometimes waived for students with financial need.

Deadlines
Note deadlines for admission for the fall of 2012. The procedure needs to be started in mid to late October, 2011 and completed by December 15, 2011.

It is important to note the following: Average test scores for current Caltech students for GRE and TOEFL are:

GRE:	Verbal	Quantitative	Analytical	Subject
US:	730	773	783	764
Foreign:	595	795	773	839
TOEFL:	627

Thus, if your scores are not in the above range, it diminishes your chances of admission.

Final decisions on admissions to CDS, including financial support, are made by the CDS faculty and the graduate office in the Spring, usually before the middle of April.
