Gazebo Stable Installation
From DGC Wiki
This is the current recommended way to install and run Gazebo. --Henrik 21:56, 28 Oct 2004 (PDT)
Note: The current stable installation files in the installers directory are:
- ode-0.5.tar.gz
- gazebo-0.5.1.tar.gz
- player-1.6.tar.gz
- librtk-src-2.3.0.tar.gz
If you want terrain model support in Gazebo, you have to apt-get remove libode-dev and install ode by hand AFTER making configuration changes as described at this page.
- Go to http://gc.caltech.edu/installers and download Player, Gazebo and the libRTK library tarballs.
- Make sure you have the dgc/local/files/dgc.bashrc sourced in your .bashrc file (put a line . ~/dgc/local/files/dgc.bashrc in it)
- Do (replacing the x'es with the date):
$ tar zxf gazebo-xxxxx.tar.gz $ cd gazebo-xxxxx $ ./configure $ make $ su $ make install $ exit $ cd.. $ tar zxf librtk-src-2.3.0.tar.gz $ cd librtk-src-2.3.0 $ ./configure $ make $ su $ make install $ exit $ cd .. $ tar zxf player-xxxxx.tar.gz $ cd player-xxxx $ ./configure $ make $ su $ make install $ exit
- Now let's compile Team Caltech's custom plugins: the Tahoe model, SickLMS221 model and the Corridor plugin:
$ cd ~/dgc/gazebo/models $ make
- Now go to the Running Gazebo page for instructions on how to run Gazebo!
