FAQ
How do I transfer the bugzilla database to a race computer?
You should only do this if you know what you are doing and have system administration priviledges on grandchallenge and the race computers. Assuming all of those properties are satisfied, here is the procedure:
Moving Bugzilla from grandchallenge to cobalt:
1. Shut down the mysql processes on grandchallenge 2. In /var/lib/mysql, tar the bugs and mysql directories 3. Copy tar file to cobalt 4. Make sure mysql is not running yet on cobalt 5. Untar files in /var/lib/mysql (save backups if you need them) 6. Start up mysql using safe_mysqld
Moving Bugzilla from cobalt to grandchallenge: reverse the process. To start up the mysql server, go into /etc/rc.d and run the mysql script with argument "start". Note: It should not be necessary to copy the mysql directory once the database has been set up. The only tables in mysql are the database permissions, which don't change.
How do I know the usernames of people I need to assign or Cc: bugs to?
There is a list of registered Bugzilla users here: http://gc.caltech.edu/bugzilla/listusers.php
