FIGURE_LABELS TEMPLATES



PROBLEMS WITH SOME VERSIONS OF ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR & COMPUTER MODERN FONTS
While running MacOS 9.0.4, problems occur when opening files with Adobe Illustrator 9.0.x
if the files contain Computer Modern fonts. A warning dialog appears and fonts are substituted if the file is opened.

N.B. with Illustrator 9.0 (6.0, 8.0.x) no font substitution occurs and everything works as expected.

On a Titanium (512MB memory), with MacOS 9.1 and Illustrator 9.0 (memory: 90000K), files containing Greek fonts cannot be opened at all. "memory error" warming

The table below lists the missing fonts when the message "Default font substituted for missing font" occurs on opening a file with Illustrator 9.0.2.

source.gif math_symbols.tex pdf.gif (pdf)
was used to create the following files in the "MATH_TEMPLATES" folder:
math_symbols_pgX.eps (X = 1, 2, 3)
math_symbols_alphaXXXXX.eps (XXXXX = numeric or scripts)
by saving the individual .dvi pages as Illustrator88 files,
then reopening them with Illustrator 6.0 or 8.0 and resaving again as illustrator or .eps files.
These symbols are then put into Illustrator documents as labels
using select/cut/paste method from the .eps templates.
The documents can only be opened without font problems in Ilustrator 6.0, 8.0, 9.0,
but not Illustrator 7.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2.

opening the files on a G3 Desktop/Mac OS 9.1/Illustrator 9.0.2.
