My research is in the application of feedback and control to biological systems.  My current focus is on predicting and engineering optimal treatment strategies in light of evolution and drug resistance for disease models such as HIV and cancer.  I conduct biological experiments and develop mathematical models and algorithms using machine learning, convex optimization and control theory.  

I am an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Hematology and Hematopoeitic Cell Transplantation, at City of Hope National Medical Center  with an appointment in the T-Cell Therapeutics Research Laboratory, where I lead the computational immuno-oncology group.

I defended my PhD at the California Institute of Technology under the advisement of Richard Murray, Pamela Bjorkman and David Baltimore.
