Matthew Perlmutter
I received my PhD from the
mathematics department of
U.C. Berkeley.
My advisor was Professor Jerrold Marsden
.
Research Interests
My research in mathematics is focussed on three areas connected to differential geometry and mathematical physics:
- geometric mechanics
- symplectic geometry
- theory of singular reduction
In addition, I have an ongoing interest in computational mechanics; particularly algorithms that preserve geometric structure.
