Last modified: Wed May 24 12:07:39 1995

Description:

The goal of this course is to teach students how to design and implement linear controllers on a physical systems, and to allow students to evaluate different control design methodologies on experimental hardware. For 1994-95, the physical system in the Caltech ducted fan, a vectored thrust flight control experiment being used for research in robust nonlinear control of aerospace vehicles. The design methodologies to be used are: classical control design, LQR, and H_infty (weighted sensitivity).
