Absolutely, that is why we are emphasizing it so much in this course. When I was working I used it (and MATLAB) almost exclusively for any control system modeling and design applications. Some examples where I used it: (1) modeling the dynamics of the thrust vector mechanism for the first and second boost stages on the NMD (National Missile Defense) rocket (2) modeling and design of the nozzle deployment mechanism on the Delta IV second stage rocket engine.
