ICIAM 2011 Mini-Symposium — MS229

Geometry, Mechanics, and Dynamics: Part I of II
Wednesday July 20, 2011, 10:00-12:00
Room: 214
[ For Part II, see MS288 ]

These two minisymposia comprising a total of 8 lecturers are dedicated to the memory of Jerrold E. Marsden. The topics of the talks illustrate Marsden’s interests. They cover fluid dynamics, elasticity theory, geometric methods in Hamiltonian dynamics, bifurcation theory, geometric mechanics, nonholonomic mechanics, control, variational numerical integrators, and mission design problems.
