Abstract:
he Discrete Euler-Poincare and Discrete Lie-Poisson frameworks
provide a method to construct integrators for the reduced dynamics of
mechanical systems with symmetry. We extend these ideas to multisymplectic
fluids, and show how one obtains a class of integrators which can be
interpreted as semi-Lagrangian methods for conservative fluid models. The key
advance here is a discrete analogue of the particle relabeling symmetry.
