Abstract:  The algebraic geometric approach to N-component systems of nonlinear integrable PDE's is used to obtain and analyze explicit solutions of the Classical Boussinesq equation and the Coupled Dym equations. Analysis of soliton fission/fusion, kink to anti-kink transitions and multipeaked soliton solutions is carried out by means of a related mechanical system.
