Abstract:

We present some selected topics in elasticity theory from a point of view which aims at a healthy balance between geometry and analysis. Much of the work revolves around the Hamiltonian structure of elastodynamics. However, to keep the notes within reasonable bounds, we have not discussed to any extent our work on bifurcation theory.
