BRIEF BIO
|
|
|
|
I was born in Syracuse, NY, on September 9, 1977.
I received my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1999 and my
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech
in 2000.
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in
Control and Dynamical Systems. My research is in cooperative control of
multi-vehicle systems and autonomous robotic navigation. From
October 2003 through October 2005 I served as manager of the planning team for
Team Caltech's entry in the
DARPA Grand Challenge.
|
|
|
|
My research is in the Control and Dynamical Systems department with
Prof. Richard Murray.
I work in the Vehicles Lab on a Multi-Vehicle
Wireless Testbed for networked control, communications and computing,
focusing on Information
Flow in Cooperative Control of Multi-Vehicle Systems.
My first
project involved temperature control within a metalorganic chemical vapor
deposition (MOCVD) reactor, including evaluation of real-time
control software from Mathworks
that was integrated into the experiment.
I have
previously done research with Professors Joel Burdick (on a
minimally actuated hopping robot) and Erik Antonsson (on
digital micropropulsion devices).
At Cornell, I was part of the team that established the Big Red
as the world champions of robot soccer at the Robot World Cup (RoboCup).
Here is Cornell RoboCup,
and the press
release from our 1999 victory.

Here's a good place for
cross-country skiing in southern California: Rim Nordic, (Rim Nordic snow report).
Also, a list of California cross-country resorts from

more at xcskiworld.com and
Far West Nordic. Here also are
southern California snow reports for lists of
Alpine resorts.
My brothers Nels and Michael are co-founders of, respectively,
In Jest and
Bold Software. Nels has a particularly
nice Quicktime video of his
