As cyclin mRNA is decreased from the standard 60-minute limit cycles, the model predicts a completely different signature that should be obvious in the experiments. The period of oscillations will increase dramatically as the amplitude holds constant, characteristic of a SNIC bifurcation. The SNIC will destroy the oscillations but leave you in interphase arrest in a region of bistability. Experimental evidence for a SNIC bifurcation would suggest that a region of bistability lies just beyond the bifurcation point.
